The DSC PTD1640U Transformer is a high-performance 16.5VAC, 40VA plug-in power supply designed for reliable operation with DSC PowerSeries NEO and Honeywell VISTA Security Systems. Built to deliver stable power, this transformer ensures that your alarm panel and communicator run seamlessly.
Featuring a convenient outlet screw slot, the PTD1640U can be secured to the wall outlet, preventing accidental disconnection. Unlike the Honeywell 1361-GT, which it is often compared to, this model does not include a middle GND terminal – but for most installations, this is not required.
Installation is straightforward: connect your alarm wiring (18 AWG recommended for longer runs, or 22 AWG for flexibility) to the AC terminals, then plug in the transformer. Always complete wiring before plugging in to prevent damage.
