Built for the installer
The smoke sensor is a double-spectrum optical device that identifies smoke by particle size rather than simply reacting to anything in the chamber, and the chamber itself is a patented design that keeps dust, dirt and insects out. Those two things together are what stop a detector crying wolf in a dusty plant room or a kitchen.
The heat sensor adds a high-temperature alarm above 135F and low-temperature detection to UL 521, so it covers the fire signatures that produce heat before visible smoke. It reports to the hub over 905.0-926.5 MHz at up to 5,550 ft.
