Relocates the Car Connector away from the OBD-II port. On a lot of vehicles the port sits right where a knee or a foot goes, and a device plugged straight into it either gets knocked or genuinely obstructs driving.
Built for the installer
The other case this solves is a loose port. A worn OBD-II connector lets the device work intermittently, which presents as a faulty Car Connector and generates a warranty return for hardware that is fine. Moving it onto an extension and securing it elsewhere fixes both problems.
This is the left orientation version. Check which way the port faces in the vehicle before ordering, since the two versions route in opposite directions.
