Relocates the Car Connector away from the OBD-II port. On a lot of vehicles the port sits right where a knee or a foot goes, and a device plugged straight into it either gets knocked or genuinely obstructs driving.

Built for the installer

The other case this solves is a loose port. A worn OBD-II connector lets the device work intermittently, which presents as a faulty Car Connector and generates a warranty return for hardware that is fine. Moving it onto an extension and securing it elsewhere fixes both problems.

This is the left orientation version. Check which way the port faces in the vehicle before ordering, since the two versions route in opposite directions.

Key features

  • Moves the device clear of knees and feet where the port sits in the footwell
  • Fixes intermittent operation on a worn port that otherwise looks like a faulty device
  • Left orientation to suit the port direction in the vehicle

System requirements

Requires the Alarm.com Car Connector, which is needed for Connected Car service. Check the orientation of the vehicle's OBD-II port before ordering, as left and right versions route in opposite directions.

FAQs

When is an extension cable needed?
When the Car Connector obstructs normal driving operation from the OBD-II port position, or when the port is loose and the device operates intermittently as a result.
Which orientation should I order?
It depends on which way the vehicle's OBD-II port faces. The left and right versions route in opposite directions, so check the vehicle before ordering.
Is the Car Connector included?
No. This is the extension cable only. The Car Connector device itself is required for Connected Car service and is ordered separately.
