Catch the leak
The PowerG+ IQ Water Tile reports water and low temperature as two independent zones on an IQ Panel 4 running v4.6.1 or higher. One part number, one battery, two kinds of protection.
Where to put it
This is not a one-per-account accessory. Most properties have several places where water could run for hours before anyone noticed. Walk the job and look at:
- Water heater
- Washing machine
- Dishwasher
- Under kitchen and bathroom sinks
- Utility and mechanical rooms
- Basements and crawlspaces
- Sump pumps and plumbing fixtures
- Vacation and seasonal properties
At 0.43 in thick the tile slides under a water heater or behind a laundry machine and stays out of the way.
The question isn't whether the job needs a Water Tile. It's how many locations need protection.
How to sell it
You do not need a technical conversation to sell this one. Point at the water heater and ask:
"If this started leaking while you were away, would you want to know?"
The answer is always yes, and it works because the homeowner is picturing their own basement rather than evaluating a product. Ask it again at the laundry machine, again under the kitchen sink, and the count builds itself. Nobody needs to understand PowerG+ architecture to understand why they would want that call.
What it does
- Water and freeze from one device - enrolls as two independent zones on IQ Panel 4 v4.6.1 and higher
- Freeze alert at 41°F (5°C) - fixed threshold, set above freezing so the alert arrives with time to act rather than after a pipe splits
- Onboard audible alert - the tile sounds locally on a water event, so somebody in the building hears it before anyone looks at a phone
- IP65 rated - a soaked tile keeps working after the event it was installed to catch
- Up to 5 years on two CR2450 lithium cells, with low-battery reporting
- Locate by sound - a TEST BUZZER option in the panel finds a tile already pushed under an appliance
Be precise with the customer about what this device does: the Water Tile detects and reports. It does not shut water off. Full specifications are in the Specifications tab, and the manufacturer spec sheet is in the Documents tab.
Pairs with

Qolsys IQ Water Valve (IQWV908)
Turns detection into action. A retrofit servo that operates an existing quarter-turn ball valve on 1/2 in to 1-1/4 in pipe, no plumber needed. It connects to the IQ Panel over Z-Wave 700, so the tile detects on PowerG+, the panel bridges the two, and the valve closes. Sold together, the conversation changes from "your system will tell you there is water" to "your system can stop the water."

PowerG+ Wireless Repeater (PGP9920)
Check placement before you leave site: Settings > Advanced Settings > System Test > PowerG Test. Three green LED flashes is strong, amber is good, red is poor. If the signal is poor, reposition the tile or add a repeater.
