The 6830-5A-4 is a fixed firefighters' telephone handset that activates audible and visible signals at the control panel the moment it's lifted, giving building staff and responding crews a direct line to the fire command center from corridors, lobbies, mechanical rooms, or stairways.

Four-state supervised wiring reports normal, active (off-hook), open, and short conditions back to the panel, so the riser is fully monitored even when no call is in progress. The push-to-talk button on this model gives the caller manual control of the transmit line. This is the handset assembly only - order a 6831-series frontplate and 6832-1D wallbox separately to complete the station.

Order a 6831-series frontplate (flush or surface, break glass or non-break glass) and a 6832-1D wallbox separately to complete the station. Wire per the four-state telephone riser diagram using jacketed, twisted, shielded pair, 14 to 22 AWG.
