The Omada ER605 is a Gigabit VPN router and the gateway for an Omada site. With up to three WAN connections, load balancing and failover, it keeps a small office, retail store or camera site online when one ISP drops, and it ties branch offices together over VPN.

Built for the small business network

One WAN port, two WAN/LAN ports and two LAN ports let you run up to three internet connections with intelligent load balancing and link backup, and the USB port accepts an LTE dongle as a cellular backup. VPN covers 20 IPsec tunnels, OpenVPN, L2TP, PPTP and WireGuard, and SD-WAN connects sites when the router is managed by an Omada controller. NAT throughput is about 940 Mbps, with 150,000 concurrent sessions. Adopted into Omada, it sits in the same dashboard as the switches and APs, with zero-touch provisioning through the cloud controller.

Key features

  • Up to 3 WAN links: load balancing, link backup and application-optimized routing
  • USB LTE backup: add a USB LTE dongle for cellular failover
  • Full VPN set: IPsec, OpenVPN, L2TP, PPTP and WireGuard, plus SD-WAN in controller mode
  • Security: stateful firewall, ACLs, DPI with application awareness, DoS defense
  • Omada SDN: one dashboard with switches and APs, zero-touch provisioning through the cloud controller
  • Desktop or wall mount, 12V adapter included

System requirements

Runs standalone through its web interface. Centralized management, SD-WAN and the Omada app require an Omada Cloud-Based, hardware or Software Controller; zero-touch provisioning requires the cloud controller.

FAQs

How many internet connections can the ER605 handle?
Up to three. Port 1 is WAN, ports 2 and 3 can be set as WAN or LAN, and the USB port adds an LTE dongle for cellular backup.
Does the ER605 have Wi-Fi?
No. It is a wired router. Add Omada access points for Wi-Fi and manage them in the same Omada site.
Do I need an Omada controller?
No. It runs standalone from its web interface. A controller adds central management and SD-WAN; zero-touch provisioning needs the cloud controller.
What VPN types does it support?
IPsec (20 tunnels), OpenVPN (50), L2TP (16), PPTP (16) and WireGuard.
