A wireless PIR covering 39 feet across 88.5 degrees, with pet immunity up to 44 pounds. It is the volume motion detector on an Ajax job, and it runs up to five years on the battery it ships with.

Built for the installer

Pet immunity here is a real specification rather than a marketing line: up to 44 pounds in weight and up to 1.6 feet in height. Above that the animal is treated as a person, which is the honest way to quote it to a customer with a large dog.

SmartDetect is the software filter that separates a person from a heat source. Combined with temperature compensation it holds detection performance from 14F to 104F, which matters in a space where the ambient temperature approaches body temperature and a cheaper PIR starts missing people.

What size pet will it ignore?
Up to 44 lb in weight and up to 1.6 ft in height. A dog taller or heavier than that will be detected as a person, so quote accordingly on sites with large animals.
How high should it be mounted?
7.9 ft. The 39 ft detection distance and 88.5 degree angle are both specified at that height, so mounting lower or higher changes the coverage.
Does it work in a warm room?
Yes. Temperature compensation maintains effective detection from 14F to 104F. A PIR without compensation loses sensitivity as ambient temperature approaches body temperature.
Does this device need an Ajax hub?
Yes. All Jeweller devices report to an Ajax hub or a range extender. The device cannot operate standalone and does not connect to a third-party panel directly.
What does the 9NA region code mean?
It is the North America model, operating on the 905.0-926.5 MHz Jeweller band certified to UL/ULC standards. European models on 868 MHz are not interchangeable with it.
How quickly is a lost device detected?
Within 36 seconds. Jeweller polls each device continuously, so a jammed, removed or failed device is reported rather than quietly going offline.
