A PIR with a K-band microwave sensor alongside it. Both technologies have to agree before an alarm is raised, which is the standard answer to a site that generates false alarms a plain PIR cannot filter out.

Built for the installer

Reach for this where the environment is the problem rather than the detector: rooms with heaters or air conditioning blowing across the field of view, conservatories and glazed areas with rapid sunlight changes, or anywhere a warehouse door opens onto cold air. A PIR sees those as moving heat. The microwave sensor does not, so the combination stays quiet.

Otherwise it matches the standard MotionProtect: 39 feet at 88.5 degrees, pet immunity to 44 pounds, SmartDetect and temperature compensation, up to five years on the battery.

When should I specify this over the standard MotionProtect?
Where the environment causes false alarms a PIR cannot filter: HVAC airflow across the field of view, glazed areas with rapid sunlight changes, or doors opening onto cold air. The microwave sensor does not see those as motion.
Does requiring both sensors reduce detection reliability?
It reduces false alarms rather than genuine detections. A person moving through the field triggers both the thermal and the microwave signature, which a heat source alone does not.
Is the coverage the same as the standard model?
Yes. Up to 39 ft at 88.5 degrees mounted at 7.9 ft, with the same 44 lb pet immunity. The radio range is 3,900 ft against 5,600 ft on the standard model.
Does this device need an Ajax hub?
Yes. All Jeweller devices report to an Ajax hub or a range extender. The device cannot operate standalone and does not connect to a third-party panel directly.
What does the 9NA region code mean?
It is the North America model, operating on the 905.0-926.5 MHz Jeweller band certified to UL/ULC standards. European models on 868 MHz are not interchangeable with it.
How quickly is a lost device detected?
Within 36 seconds. Jeweller polls each device continuously, so a jammed, removed or failed device is reported rather than quietly going offline.
