On a life safety system, documented verification is not optional. A gunshot detection deployment in a school or healthcare setting has to be demonstrated as working, and demonstrated again periodically, which is not something that can be done by any improvised method. The tester is the sanctioned way to do it.
It is the companion part to the ADC-SDS2001 indoor sensor.
