Built for the installer
Finish matters more on thermostats than on most security hardware, because the thermostat is in a hallway at eye level in a space the customer has decorated. Having both finishes available means the device suits the room rather than being the thing everybody notices.
Check for a C-wire before the visit. It runs on 24 VAC and requires a common wire. Where there is none and pulling one is impractical, the ADC-T25 can run on batteries instead. S2 security and Z-Wave SmartStart are both supported.
