​At the recent ISC West 2025 conference, 2GIG unveiled its latest innovation: the GC Touch panel. This new offering is set to replace the GC2e panel, providing a modern, cost-effective solution for clients seeking reliable security without the premium features of higher-end models like the 2GIG EDGE.​

A Brief History of 2GIG Panels

Historically, 2GIG has offered two primary tiers of alarm panels:​

• GC2 Series: Introduced as a minimalist, budget-friendly option, the GC2 panel catered to clients who required essential security features without the complexities of advanced technology. The subsequent GC2e model enhanced this with encrypted sensor compatibility and a larger touchscreen.

• GC3 Series: Serving as the flagship for many years, the GC3 panel boasted advanced features and greater capabilities. The GC3e iteration further introduced encrypted sensors and Smart Areas for partitioning security zones.

In recent years, the introduction of the 2GIG EDGE panel marked a significant leap forward, incorporating features such as facial recognition, edge analytics, and Bluetooth disarming, positioning 2GIG at the forefront of alarm technology.

The 2GIG EDGE panel quickly replaced the GC3e as the flagship alarm panel for 2GIG. However, it lacked a lower-end alternative. For alarm installers looking for a lower tier alarm panel, their only option is the GC2e, which is quickly becoming outdated.

But now, we're excited to announce that the GC Touch Panel, released later this year, will be the new go-to panel for installations that don't require the robust features available in the EDGE panel.

Introducing the GC Touch Panel

The GC Touch panel is designed to modernize the lower-tier segment of 2GIG's offerings. Key features include:​

• 7-Inch Capacitive Touchscreen: Provides an intuitive and responsive user interface, enhancing user experience. 

• Support for Up to 100 Zones: Accommodates extensive security setups, making it suitable for both residential and commercial applications. ​

• Z-Wave Compatibility: Enables seamless integration with a wide range of smart home devices, allowing for comprehensive automation and control. ​

• Two-Way Voice Communication: Facilitates real-time interaction with central monitoring stations, enhancing emergency response capabilities. 

The GC Touch maintains an aesthetic consistency with the 2GIG Edge, ensuring a cohesive look across product lines. This alignment simplifies choices for clients, allowing them to select a panel that fits their needs and budget without compromising on design or technology.​

The GC Touch panel is expected to be available from SS&Si Dealer Network later this year.
