The DSC BD7-12 12V 7Ah Sealed Lead Acid Backup Battery is a factory-spec replacement cell for DSC security panels and compatible PowerSeries Pro, NEO HS2 series, and larger alarm panel installations. AGM construction, standard F1 (0.187") or F2 (0.25") Faston tab terminals, drop-in replacement when you are matching what was originally in the can.
What this battery does
Sealed lead acid chemistry holds a charge in standby for years and delivers full output the moment AC power drops. Mounted inside the panel enclosure, it keeps the system armed, the keypad lit, and the communicator dialing during a power outage or a cut line. The standard 7Ah is the most common 12V SLA in the security industry for a reason: it carries the heaviest panels through the longest outages. If you are unsure which capacity a panel needs, the install manual will spell it out, but 7Ah is the default size shipped with most NEO and PowerSeries Pro kits.

Honest note on runtime
Runtime varies with panel current draw and accessory load. The Ah label is not hours of backup. Size the battery from the panel installation manual, not the case sticker. A heavily loaded panel on a small battery will trip a low-voltage trouble within an hour. A right-sized cell will ride through a multi-day outage.
Replacement schedule
Plan to swap SLA batteries every three to five years. Capacity loss is gradual and the panel will throw a battery-trouble condition before the cell fails completely. Keep a spare on the truck for service calls.
