Swap a maglock or electric strike for a lock that mounts on top of the door frame, runs on one Cat6 cable and holds 3,000 lb against forced entry. The HavenLock Gen4 gives commercial installers a faster job than a traditional maglock install, code-compliant free egress and access control the customer runs from Alarm.com for Business.

Built for the commercial installer

The Gen4 is a Mercury-based, lock-on-frame access control lock for schools, commercial buildings and houses of worship. It fits solid-core or metal commercial doors, inswing or outswing, including double doors, and Haven puts a typical install at under 30 minutes per door with one tech. Mounting screws for the frame and the door are in the box. It carries UL 294 and UL 10C, meets NFPA 101 one-motion egress and ADA requirements, and is DHS SAFETY Act Designated.

Key features

  • One cable to the door: PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) over a single Cat6 run carries both power and system integration, so there is no separate lock power run to pull.
  • Power options and backup: run it on PoE+ through the Mercury LP1501 or on a regulated 12 or 24 VDC supply. Two on-board CR123A cells provide battery backup and a standalone battery mode, with low battery notification.
  • Egress and code: one-motion free egress under NFPA 101, field-configurable fail-safe or fail-secure, auto-relock, and a built-in REX motion sensor and door position sensor, so there is no separate REX or door contact to install.
  • Attack and tamper detection: LockSight flags forced-entry attempts and tampering, and the patented wedge locking system holds 3,000 lb. Rapid lockdown secures the door during an active threat without blocking free egress.
  • Alarm.com: developed with Alarm.com and managed in Alarm.com for Business for permissions, real-time entry events, remote activation and multi-site oversight. It also integrates with DMP, Brivo, PDK and Mercury, plus Wiegand/RS-485 for Software House and LenelS2.

System requirements

Each door needs a Cat6 run with PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) through the Mercury LP1501 controller, which mounts on the Gen4's integrated bracket, or a regulated 12 or 24 VDC supply. Management runs from Alarm.com for Business, or from DMP, Brivo, PDK or a Mercury-based platform. Schlage CTE controllers also fit the integrated mounting footprint.

How is the HavenLock Gen4 powered?
PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) over a single Cat6 run, or a regulated, fused 12 to 24 VDC supply rated for 1 A. Two on-board CR123A batteries provide backup and a standalone battery mode. Do not connect to AC mains.
Does the Gen4 meet egress code?
Yes. It provides NFPA 101 one-motion free egress and carries UL 294, UL 10C and ADA compliance. Fail-safe or fail-secure is set in the field, and a mechanical drop latch override is built in.
What doors does the Gen4 fit?
Solid-core or metal commercial doors, inswing or outswing, including double doors. Hollow-core doors are not supported. It mounts on top of the frame in place of a maglock or electric strike, with 4 screws into the frame and 4 into the door.
What does the Mercury LP1501 do with the Gen4?
The LP1501 is the Mercury access controller the Gen4 integrates natively. Its footprint and mounting bracket are built into the lock, so the controller sits at the door and the Cat6 PoE+ run powers the lock through it.
Can I manage the Gen4 from Alarm.com?
Yes. The Gen4 was developed with Alarm.com and is managed in Alarm.com for Business, where you set permissions, watch real-time entry events, trigger lockdown and oversee multiple sites from one interface.
What other access control platforms does the Gen4 work with?
DMP, Brivo, PDK and Mercury, in addition to Alarm.com. It also supports Wiegand/RS-485 interfaces for Software House and LenelS2.
How long does a Gen4 install take?
Haven puts a typical install at under 30 minutes per door with one tech. There is no separate REX, door contact or lock power run, since REX motion, door position and PoE+ power are built in.
Can the Gen4 be installed outdoors?
No. It is rated for indoor use only and should not go on outdoor-exposed doors or in damp locations. The circuit board operates from 14°F to 122°F (-10°C to 50°C).
Can the Gen4 go on a fire-rated door?
Yes. It is UL 10C classified for non-rated doors and 20- and 45-minute fire-rated door assemblies when installed per the listing. Mounting must stay within NFPA 80 limits so the door keeps its fire label.
Does the Gen4 release on fire alarm?
Yes. Connected to an approved system, it unlocks automatically on fire alarm or sprinkler activation. Map the FACP release during install so the lock releases on alarm.
