The KC2-OS is Kidde's conventional two-wire photoelectric smoke detector head, built for panels that need a proven, low-maintenance detector rather than an addressable loop device. It drops onto a KC2 series base and reports back through the same two-wire circuit used by the rest of a conventional zone, so replacing an aging detector or adding one to an existing loop doesn't mean rethinking the panel wiring.
