The ANS50XG adds 50 watts of audio power to an existing Kidde ANS2 Series voice evacuation system without duplicating the microphone, digital message repeater, or configuration already on the main panel. Drop it in the same cabinet or an adjacent enclosure, connect with the factory-supplied ribbon cable, and the system gains a full additional supervised speaker circuit.
Built for the commercial fire alarm installer
The expander panel includes its own 120 VAC power supply, battery charger, and space for two 12V gel cell batteries - so it operates independently of the main panel's power budget. Speaker output is field-selectable between 25 and 70 Vrms, and the circuit is power-limited with open and short circuit protection. UL listed (S6610) and FDNY accepted (COA 6235) for NFPA 72 emergency voice alarm applications.
Key features
- 50W of additional audio power for expanding voice evacuation coverage on larger buildings
- 25 or 70 Vrms selectable output to match existing speaker infrastructure
- Self-contained power supply and battery charger with 24-60 hours standby and 15-minute alarm backup
- Cascade up to 15 expander units for up to 2,000 watts total system audio power
- Power-limited, supervised speaker circuits with open and short circuit protection
- 400-4000 Hz frequency response for clear voice and tone reproduction
System requirements
Requires a Kidde ANS2 Series main panel (ANS25, ANS50, or ANS100) as the master. The expander connects via a 14-pin ribbon cable or hardwired connections. All expander units must be mounted in the same cabinet or within the same room, with connecting wires run in conduit. Compatible with Genesis speakers and speaker-strobes.
