A reed-switch opening detector for doors, windows and skylights, running up to seven years on the battery it ships with. The reed switch is British-made and rated past two million openings, which on a door that gets used forty times a day is the difference between a detector that lasts and one you revisit.
Built for the installer
Two magnets come in the box, a big one and a small one. The small magnet works up to 0.4 inches from the detector and the big one up to 0.8 inches, which covers narrow uPVC frames as well as deep timber reveals without hunting for a spacer. Fit one or the other, never both, and put it to the right of the detector as the arrow on the enclosure shows.
Contact chatter protection ignores vibration lasting under 0.15 seconds, so a door rattling in a draught does not generate an alarm. There is also a terminal input for a third-party wired detector with an NC contact, which lets one wireless point cover a hardwired device that would otherwise need its own transmitter.

System requirements
Requires an Ajax hub or range extender. Indoor use only. Do not fit both magnets at once, and mount the magnet to the right of the detector.
