Does it matter which way up the detector sits?
No. It detects as soon as it becomes wet on either side, so it works whichever way it ends up when pushed under an appliance.
Where should leak detectors be placed?
At the lowest point near the risk: under sinks, behind washing machines and dishwashers, beside water heaters, and in plant rooms. Water runs downhill, so the lowest point sees it first.
Can a leak automatically shut off the water?
Yes, through Ajax automation scenarios. Paired with a compatible valve, a detection can close the supply rather than only raising an alert, which is what actually prevents the damage.
Does this device need an Ajax hub?
Yes. All Jeweller devices report to an Ajax hub or a range extender. The device cannot operate standalone and does not connect to a third-party panel directly.
What does the 9NA region code mean?
It is the North America model, operating on the 905.0-926.5 MHz Jeweller band certified to UL/ULC standards. European models on 868 MHz are not interchangeable with it.
How quickly is a lost device detected?
Within 36 seconds. Jeweller polls each device continuously, so a jammed, removed or failed device is reported rather than quietly going offline.
