The 5MP dome in the Prism range, on a 2.8 mm lens giving 103.4 degrees. That is the shape that suits a lobby, a corridor or a single doorway, where the point is complete coverage of a contained space rather than reaching across a car park.

Built for the commercial installer

The Sony STARVIS 2 sensor with VividNight is what separates this from a generic PoE camera. At 0.02 lux it holds colour where an ordinary camera has already flipped to monochrome, which means a car or a jacket is still identifiable by colour under car park lighting rather than becoming a grey shape. IR carries it the rest of the way to 40 metres in full darkness.

NDAA Section 889 compliant alongside FCC, IC, RCM, CE Class B and UL, so it clears the procurement language that rules out most competitively priced cameras. Analytics run on the camera rather than on a server, and footage can go to onboard microSD with Smart View, to an Alarm.com SVR or CSVR, or both.

One specification to check before quoting: this model has no audio at all. There is no microphone, no speaker and no external audio input, unlike the 8MP models in the range. If the site expects listen-in or talk-down at that position, specify the ADC-VC8498P instead.

System requirements
