A bullet housing says something a dome does not. Where a dome is discreet, a visible bullet on a loading dock or a perimeter fence is part of the deterrent, and the integrated sunshield handles the direct light that would otherwise wash out the top of frame.

Built for the commercial installer

The Sony STARVIS 2 sensor with VividNight is what separates this from a generic PoE camera. At 0.02 lux it holds colour where an ordinary camera has already flipped to monochrome, which means a car or a jacket is still identifiable by colour under car park lighting rather than becoming a grey shape. IR carries it the rest of the way to 40 metres in full darkness.

NDAA Section 889 compliant alongside FCC, IC, RCM, CE Class B and UL, so it clears the procurement language that rules out most competitively priced cameras. Analytics run on the camera rather than on a server, and footage can go to onboard microSD with Smart View, to an Alarm.com SVR or CSVR, or both.

The motorised varifocal covers 110.4 degrees down to 45.1 degrees, adjusted remotely, which matters most on the long views a bullet usually gets pointed at. Tilt 80 degrees and rotate 350 degrees at the mount. IP66, IK10 and IP67 rated, and it weighs 2.3 lbs, so check the surface will carry it before mounting to anything light.

System requirements

Requires IEEE 802.3af Type 1 PoE and an active Alarm.com for Business commercial video plan. There is no 12V DC input, so plan a PoE switch or injector with budget for the stated draw. The camera is purpose-built for Alarm.com for Business and does not enroll in third-party VMS platforms.
