Add two doors without adding a controller. The X100 carries everything a pair of openings needs, two reader inputs, four relay outputs and four programmable inputs, and hangs off an X1100 on an RS-485 run. The customer keeps one controller, one IP address and one place to manage users while the door count grows.

Built for the commercial installer

This is what makes phased access control jobs work. Sell the X1100 for the front and back door, then come back and add the warehouse, the server room and the side entrance as budget appears, without re-architecting anything or standing up a second controller and a second network drop.

Up to 16 modules connect per expansion port, for 32 modules and 64 readers on a single X1100. Each module carries its own dedicated tamper, AC fail and battery fail inputs, so a remote enclosure reports its own condition rather than going dark. UL 294 recognized, and for use with the X1100 controller only.

FAQs

Will this work with any Alarm.com door controller?
No. The X100 is for use with the X1100 Door Controller only. It will not expand the Mercury series controllers such as the LP1501 or MP1501.
How many X100 modules can one controller take?
Up to 16 per expansion port, for 32 modules total on a single X1100, reaching 64 readers.
How far can the module sit from the controller?
It connects over shielded 2-wire RS-485. Follow the RS-485 distance and wire gauge guidance in Alarm.com's installation documentation for the run length on your site.
Does this need a separate access control server or software licence?
No. It reports to the Alarm.com for Business platform, and doors and users are managed from the Alarm.com website or app. There is no on-site server or head-end software to maintain.
What network expertise does installation require?
None beyond a normal IP drop. Alarm.com describes it as plug and play, with hardware configured from the customer website or the app rather than through a local programming tool.
