Built for the installer
It runs from a 16-24 VAC transformer at 10 VA, or a DC supply at exactly 12 VDC and 0.5 to 1 amp. Two important wiring notes: a transformer with no doorbell chime in the circuit needs a 10 watt 10 ohm resistor, and a digital chime needs the digital doorbell adapter (ADC-VACC-DB-A). Getting either wrong is the usual cause of a doorbell that buzzes, rings constantly, or will not ring at all.
A PIR motion sensor covers up to 8 feet, separate from the camera's own detection. The internal battery is rated 3 to 5 years and exists to ride out chime circuit dips rather than to run the device.
