A 5 MP sensor with a 150-degree vertical field of view, which is the tall-and-narrow shape that shows a visitor head to toe and the package at their feet in the same frame. Video Analytics handles detection on the device rather than a PIR sensor, so alerts follow what is actually in view.

Built for the installer

Three mounting brackets are in the box at 0, 15 and 30 degrees left or right, and the power module, angled wedges, wire connectors and wire extenders come with it, so most installs need nothing extra. The optional Wedge Mount Kit (ADC-VDBA-WMK) adds four more positions including 45 degrees left or right and 5 degrees down, for doors set into a perpendicular wall or where the bottom blind spot is hiding packages.

Rated -22F to 104F as installed. The Temperature Collar (ADC-VDBA-TC) extends the low end from -30C to -40C ambient by blocking airflow across the heat sink, which is worth specifying on northern jobs. Note that digital chime installs require the battery version (ADC-VDBA-770BAT); mechanical or no-chime installs can use the battery-less insert (ADC-VDBA-770BLI).

Which mounting brackets are included?
Three: A at 0 degrees, B at 15 degrees left or right, and C at 30 degrees left or right. The optional ADC-VDBA-WMK wedge kit adds D at 45 degrees, E at 5 degrees down, and F and G at 5 degrees down with 15 degrees left or right.
Can this doorbell work in extreme cold?
It is rated to -30C ambient as installed. Adding the Video Doorbell Temperature Collar (ADC-VDBA-TC) extends that to -40C by blocking airflow to the heat sink so the device retains its own heat.
What is the difference between the battery version and the battery-less insert?
Digital chime installations require the battery version (ADC-VDBA-770BAT). Mechanical chime or no-chime installations can use the battery-less insert (ADC-VDBA-770BLI), which removes battery upkeep entirely.
What wire gauge should be used?
18 to 20 AWG for all Alarm.com video doorbell installations. Alarm.com notes that gauges outside that range change circuit resistance and may deliver incorrect power to the device.
Can two doorbells share one transformer?
Yes, but an additional 10 VA must be supplied for each extra doorbell on the same transformer. Two doorbells need at least 20 VA.
