SKU:
KD-2452THS-110-W

The 2452THS-110-W pairs a piercing temporal horn with a high-intensity 110 cd strobe in one wall-mounted appliance - the 100+ cd range recommended for sleeping rooms and other areas that need maximum visual notification.

Built for the commercial fire installer

The horn is field-configurable for steady or temporal tone and high (98 dBA) or low (94 dBA) output; when temporal output is selected, every horn on a common two-wire circuit self-synchronizes without an external control module. The strobe exceeds UL 1971 synchronization requirements (within 10 ms over two hours) when paired with a compatible sync source, and is fully compatible with Genesis signals on the same circuit. A single-screw mounting plate holds the device wired and hanging free for inspection before final fastening.

Key features

  • 110 cd strobe - within Kidde's recommended range for sleeping room applications
  • Self-synchronizing horn on temporal setting - no external module needed for audible sync
  • Adjustable output: steady or temporal tone, high (98 dBA) or low (94 dBA)
  • Genesis-compatible strobe synchronization with an external control module
  • Field-changeable lens markings via optional LKW/LKC kits

System requirements

Strobe: 16-33 Vdc continuous. Horn: 16-33 Vdc or VFWR continuous. Flush-mounts to a North American 2-gang box (2-3/4" minimum) or 4" square box. Strobe synchronization requires a compatible source (EG1M-RM, GSA-CC1S, GSA-MCC1S, MIRBPS6A/10A, APS6A/10A).

Why choose a 110 cd strobe?
Kidde recommends at least 110 cd for strobes in sleeping rooms - research indicates roughly 100 cd is needed to awaken 90% of sleeping occupants.
Do the horns synchronize without a special module?
Yes, for audible temporal synchronization - all horns on a common two-wire circuit self-synchronize. Strobe visual synchronization to full UL 1971 tolerance still requires a compatible sync source.
Can I select steady tone instead of temporal?
Yes. The horn is configured at installation for steady or temporal tone, and high or low output.
What box does this mount to?
A standard flush-mounted North American 2-gang electrical box (2-3/4" minimum) or a 4" square box; surface and outdoor boxes are also available.
