SKU:
KD-EGCAVWA-CVR

The EGCAVWA-CVR is a factory replacement cover for Kidde's Genesis LED EGC Series ceiling-mount horn-strobes. White housing with red ALERT marking - swap it onto an existing EGC base without touching wiring or pulling the device off the ceiling.

When you need one

Replacement covers handle the most common field scenarios: damaged housings from construction activity, marking changes when a space converts from general notification to mass notification (or vice versa), and color changes to match updated finish schedules. The cover snaps onto the existing Genesis EGC ceiling-mount base, preserving the original device wiring and addressing.

What's in the box

  • One replacement cover for Genesis LED EGC Series ceiling-mount horn-strobe (audio/visual) devices
  • White housing with red ALERT marking on two sides
  • Integrated speaker grille - perforated pattern matches OEM horn-strobe covers
  • Drop-in fit - snaps onto existing EGC ceiling-mount base with no tools or rewiring

Compatibility

This cover fits Genesis LED EGC Series ceiling-mount horn-strobe (AV) bases. It does not fit wall-mount (EG4), compact (EG1), or speaker-strobe (EGCS) models. Verify the base model before ordering - the EGC prefix on the existing device confirms compatibility.

Does this cover fit all Genesis ceiling-mount devices?
No. It fits Genesis LED EGC Series ceiling-mount horn-strobe (AV) bases only. It does not fit EG4 wall-mount, EG1 compact, or EGCS speaker-strobe models. Look for the EGC prefix on the existing device to confirm.
Do I need to remove the device from the ceiling to swap the cover?
No. The cover snaps onto the existing base without removing the device from the backbox or disconnecting wiring. The base, wiring, and addressing stay in place.
What is the difference between ALERT and FIRE markings?
ALERT is used in mass notification and general signaling. FIRE is for fire alarm notification circuits. The marking is cosmetic and does not change electrical or acoustic performance. Check AHJ requirements for the correct marking.
Can I change a red cover to a white cover using this part?
Yes. The cover color and marking are independent of the base. You can swap a red FIRE cover for a white ALERT cover (or any other available combination) without affecting device operation.
