The VM-ETH1 Ethernet Adapter Card gives a Kidde VM Series panel a standard 10/100 Ethernet connection back to the VM-CU programming and diagnostics software, over a standard network cable instead of a direct laptop connection at the panel.

Built for the commercial fire installer

Once the VM-ETH1 is installed and configured, programming changes, diagnostics, and status checks can happen from anywhere on the customer's network — no truck roll and no cracking the cabinet open just to pull event history. It's the base Ethernet option in the VM-ETH family; VM-ETH2 adds central station receiver connectivity and VM-ETH3 adds email/SMS alerting on top of that.

What does the VM-ETH1 do?
It gives a VM Series panel a standard 10/100 Ethernet connection for remote programming and diagnostics through Kidde's VM-CU software, over the customer's network instead of a laptop connected directly at the panel.
How does this differ from VM-ETH2 and VM-ETH3?
VM-ETH1 covers Ethernet programming and diagnostics only. VM-ETH2 adds connectivity to compatible central station digital alarm receivers. VM-ETH3 adds email and SMS text alerting on top of VM-ETH2's functions.
What's the maximum cable run?
200 ft. (60 m) from the panel to network equipment, using standard Cat 5 or Cat 5e cable with an RJ-45 connector.
