Required when mounting EG1 Series wall appliances on electrical boxes wider than 3 inches - that includes 2-gang, 4-inch octagon, and 4-inch square boxes. Optional on standard 1-gang boxes where the appliance already covers the opening. All boxes must be at least 1-1/2 in. deep.
