The Kidde Genesis GCHFWA-S2VMCH is a high fidelity 520 Hz ceiling speaker-strobe built for commercial sleeping areas, dormitories, and hotels where NFPA 72 requires low-frequency audible signaling. The white housing with ALERT marking supports mass notification applications, and the multi-candela high cd strobe (selectable 95/115/150/177 cd) covers a wide range of room sizes from a single SKU.

Built for the commercial fire installer

This device mounts flush to any standard North American 4-inch square electrical box (2-1/8" deep) or 960A-4RF round flush box - no extension ring or trim plate required. The low-profile design sits just 1" off the ceiling, 30% slimmer than comparable signals. Wattage taps (1/4W, 1/2W, 1W, 2W) and candela settings are field-selectable without removing the device - open the cover, adjust the switches, and close. Settings remain visible through front windows after installation.

Connects to a listed fire alarm control panel via 25 VRMS speaker circuit and 16-33 VDC or VFWR strobe circuit. Compatible synchronization sources include GSA-CC1S, GSA-MCC1S, SIGA-CC2A, GSA-MCC2A, EG1M-RM, MIRBPS6A, MIRBPS10A, APS6A, APS10A, VS Series, and Fireshield Plus 5 and 10 zone panels. Wire with #18 to #12 AWG conductors.

Does this model meet NFPA 72 sleeping area requirements?

Yes. The GCHFWA-S2VMCH is a 520 Hz high fidelity model approved for use in sleeping areas per NFPA 72 when used with approved audio hardware and a factory-supplied 520 Hz tone. Suitable for hotels, dormitories, and residential occupancies.

What candela settings are available?

This is a high cd output model with four field-selectable settings: 95, 115, 150, and 177 cd. Settings are changed via a slide switch inside the device without removing it from the ceiling.

Will it fit a standard 4-inch electrical box?

Yes. Mounts flush to any standard North American 4-inch square electrical box, 2-1/8" deep, or a 960A-4RF round flush box. No extension ring or trim plate needed.

Can I change wattage and candela settings after installation?

Yes. Open the cover to access the wattage tap switch (1/4W, 1/2W, 1W, 2W) and candela switch. Settings remain visible through small front windows after the cover is closed. No need to remove the device.
