The 520 Hz high fidelity speaker meets NFPA 72 requirements for sleeping areas in hotels, dormitories, and residential occupancies when used with approved end-to-end audio hardware. The ALERT marking designates this as a mass notification appliance, keeping it visually distinct from FIRE-marked life safety devices on the same floor. UL 464, UL 1638, UL 1971, and UL 1480 Fifth Edition listed. ULC-S541 compliant. ADA compliant. MEA approved.

System requirements
Requires connection to a listed fire alarm control panel or mass notification system with 70 VRMS speaker output and 16-33 VDC (or 16-33 VFWR) strobe power. Synchronization requires a compatible sync source module. For sleeping area applications, must be part of an approved end-to-end 520 Hz audio system - third-party audio systems are not UL approved for sleeping rooms.
