The Kidde Genesis WG4 outdoor rated wall horn delivers a powerful 3.2 kHz piezo tone for fire alarm notification in parking garages, process areas, and other challenging environments. Rated for indoor and outdoor use with an operating range of -40F to 151F, it handles wet and harsh conditions that sideline lesser notification appliances.

Built for the commercial installer

Wall or ceiling mountable with room-side wiring for straightforward installation. Accepts 18 to 12 AWG wiring and fits standard 4-inch square boxes indoors or Model 449/74347U boxes in outdoor and wet locations. Field-configurable horn pattern (temporal or coded) and volume (high or low dB) via jumper cuts on the circuit board - no separate ordering for different configurations. UL 464 and ULC-S525 listed.

Mounting options

Mounts to standard 4-inch square boxes in dry indoor locations or Model 449/74347U outdoor-rated boxes for wet environments. The optional WG4WTS white trim skirt provides a clean finished look on surface-mounted boxes. An optional full backplane gasket (WG4GSKT) allows installation to recessed electrical boxes.

Does this horn work outdoors?

Yes. Rated for indoor and outdoor use from -40°F to 151°F, 0-95% humidity. Suitable for parking garages, process areas, and other wet or harsh environments.

Can I switch between temporal and coded operation?

Yes. Factory-set for 3-pulse temporal. Cut jumper JP1 to convert to coded operation for coded NAC panels. A Genesis Signal Master is required for coded horn-strobe configurations.

What electrical boxes does this mount to?

Outdoor/wet: Model 449 or 74347U surface box. Dry indoor: standard 4 in. square by 1.5 in. deep box. With optional WG4WTS trim skirt: 449 or 4 in. square by 2-1/8 in. deep box.

How do I adjust the horn volume?

Cut jumper JP3 on the circuit board to switch from high dB (factory default) to low dB output. This reduces horn output by approximately 5 dB.

What Kidde panels support Genesis synchronization?

VS Series, VM Series, and FX Series panels have Genesis synchronization built in. External sync sources include GSA-CC1S, SIGA-CC2A, GSA-MCC1S, and GSA-MCC2A auto-sync output modules, or the EG1M-RM Genesis Signal Master.
