The Kidde Genesis WG4WA-S is an outdoor-rated wall/ceiling speaker built for emergency communication systems (ECS) and mass notification (MNS) applications. It drops into wet locations where standard indoor notification appliances fall short - parking structures, loading docks, covered walkways, and exterior corridors - running off the same 25V or 70V amplified signal circuit already on the job.

Built for the commercial fire alarm installer

The WG4WA-S mounts on a standard 4" square box (1-1/2" deep without trim skirt, 2-1/8" deep with skirt) or the outdoor-rated 74347U surface mount box. Field-selectable wattage taps (1/4W, 1/2W, 1W, 2W) and voltage selection (25V or 70V) let you dial in the right output for the space without swapping hardware. Wire terminations accept 12 to 18 AWG. Compatible with Kidde VM and VS Series life safety systems and FX Series fire alarm control panels.

What voltage does the WG4WA-S operate on?
25V or 70V RMS, field selectable via a switch on the unit. Default setting is 70V.
What wattage taps are available?
Four field-selectable taps: 1/4W, 1/2W, 1W, and 2W. All four taps are available on both 25V and 70V operation.
Can this speaker be installed outdoors?
Yes. The WG4WA-S is rated for wet environments and operates from -31Ā°F to 151Ā°F (-35Ā°C to 66Ā°C) with humidity up to 95% noncondensing. Use the 74347U outdoor-rated surface mount box for surface installations.
What electrical box does this mount to?
Standard 4" square box, 1-1/2" deep minimum without a trim skirt. With the optional WG4 trim skirt (WG4WTS for white), the box must be 4" square by 2-1/8" deep. The 74347U surface mount box is recommended for outdoor surface installations.
Does this model include a strobe?
No. The WG4WA-S is a speaker-only model. For speaker-strobe combinations in the same outdoor-rated Genesis WG4 family, use the WG4WA-SVMC (clear lens) or WG4WA-SVMA (amber lens).
What fire alarm panels is this compatible with?
Compatible with Kidde VM Series, VS Series, and FX Series fire alarm systems, as well as any listed FACP or amplifier providing a supervised 25V or 70V signal circuit.
How loud is the WG4WA-S at full output?
