KD-WG4WA-SVMHC

The Genesis WG4WA-SVMHC is an outdoor-rated wall/ceiling speaker-strobe built for mass notification and emergency communications (ECS/MNS) applications. White housing with red ALERT marking, clear high-output strobe selectable at 102, 123, 147, or 161 cd, and a dual-voltage speaker (25V/70V) with field-selectable wattage taps from 1/4W to 2W. UL 1971 and UL 1638 listed for both indoor and outdoor installations.

Built for the commercial installer

Rated for wet and harsh environments down to -31°F, the WG4 Series handles parking garages, loading docks, process areas, and exterior walls where standard notification appliances fall short. Wall or ceiling mount with four orientation options. Full backplane sealing gasket allows installation to recessed in-the-pour or block electrical boxes, and all wiring is room-side for faster trim-out. Mounts to the Kidde 74347U outdoor-rated box or a standard 4-inch square box in dry locations.

Key features

What FACP or sync source does this speaker-strobe require?
Syncs with VM/VS Series, FX Series FACPs, Genesis modules (GSA-CC1S, GSA-MCC1S, SIGA-CC2A, GSA-MCC2A, EG1M-RM), and power supplies (MIRBPS6A, MIRBPS10A, APS6A, APS10A).
Can this speaker-strobe be installed outdoors?
Yes. The WG4 Series is wet-rated and UL 1638 listed for outdoor use. It operates from -31°F to 151°F and mounts to the Kidde 74347U outdoor-rated electrical box.
How do I change the candela or wattage settings?
Candela and wattage are field-selectable via switches and jumpers on the appliance. All settings are visible through a sealed viewport on the cover after installation, so you can verify without removing the faceplate.
What electrical box does this mount to?
For wet/outdoor locations, use the Kidde 74347U box. For dry locations, a standard 4-inch square box by 1-1/2" deep works (or 2-1/8" deep with the trim skirt accessory).
What are the outdoor candela ratings vs. indoor?
Indoor UL 1971 ratings are 102/123/147/161 cd. Outdoor UL 1638 ratings for the same switch positions are 41/50/60/65 cd. The difference reflects UL's separate test standards for outdoor visibility.
Is this a mass notification (ECS/MNS) appliance?
Yes. The ALERT marking and white housing designate this as an ECS/MNS appliance, visually distinguishing it from red fire alarm notification devices per NFPA 72 requirements.
