SKU:
KD-WG4RF-SVMHC

The Kidde Genesis WG4RF-SVMHC is an outdoor-rated speaker/strobe that mounts on the wall or ceiling and handles both audible and visual notification from a single device. Dual-voltage operation (25V or 70V, field-selectable) drops it onto existing NAC circuits without rewiring, and four field-selectable wattage taps (1/4, 1/2, 1, or 2W) let you dial in sound coverage to the space. The high-output clear strobe covers 102, 123, 147, or 161 cd - all set from inside the device, no special tools.

Built for the commercial installer

UL 1638 listed for outdoor use and UL 1971 listed for indoor, so one SKU covers parking garages, loading docks, process areas, and interior corridors alike. Rated for wet environments down to -31°F and up to 151°F. Mounts to standard 4-inch square electrical boxes, or use the Kidde 74347U surface mount box for outdoor and wet-location installs. All wiring is room-side - no pulling conductors through the backplane. Accepts 12 to 18 AWG field wiring.

Key features

  • Field-selectable everything: voltage (25V/70V), wattage (1/4 to 2W), and candela (102/123/147/161 cd) all configurable at install without returning to the shop
  • Sealed viewport display keeps wattage and candela settings visible after cover installation for easy inspection and AHJ verification
  • UL 1638 outdoor rated with full backplane sealing gasket for wet and harsh environments
  • Genesis sync compatible with VM/VS Series, FX Series panels, and standard sync modules (GSA-CC1S, SIGA-CC2A, and others)
  • Temporal strobe output configurable via JP1 jumper for private-mode signaling applications
  • Room-side wiring on 12-18 AWG keeps installation fast and the backplane sealed

System requirements

Connects to any listed fire alarm control panel with supervised 25V or 70V speaker circuits and 24 VDC/VFWR strobe circuits. Strobe synchronization requires a compatible sync source - VM or VS Series life safety systems, FX Series panels, or dedicated sync modules (GSA-CC1S, GSA-MCC1S, SIGA-CC2A, GSA-MCC2A, EG1M-RM). For outdoor or wet-location surface mounting, use the Kidde 74347U box. Optional WG4RTS red trim skirt available for a finished appearance on 4-inch square boxes.

Does the WG4RF-SVMHC work outdoors?
Yes. It is UL 1638 listed for outdoor use in wet environments, with an operating temperature range of -31°F to 151°F. For outdoor surface mounting, use the Kidde 74347U box with the full backplane sealing gasket.
What electrical box does this mount to?
Standard 4" square boxes (1-1/2" deep min without trim skirt, 2-1/8" with). For outdoor/wet locations, use the Kidde 74347U surface mount box. Optional WG4RTS red trim skirt for a finished look.
How do I set the wattage and candela in the field?
Slide switch S1 for wattage (1/4, 1/2, 1, or 2W), S2 for candela (102/123/147/161 cd), and S3 for speaker voltage (25V/70V). Settings stay visible through a sealed viewport after the cover is replaced.
What sync modules are compatible with this device?
Compatible with GSA-CC1S, GSA-MCC1S, SIGA-CC2A, GSA-MCC2A, and EG1M-RM sync modules. Also works with MIRBPS6A, MIRBPS10A, APS6A, and APS10A power supplies. Meets UL sync requirements (within 10 ms over two hours).
Can I use this for mass notification or ECS/MNS?
This model (WG4RF-SVMHC) is a Life Safety appliance with FIRE marking for fire alarm use. For ECS/MNS or mass notification, use the Genesis WG4WA series with ALERT or no marking and optional colored lenses.
What is the difference between standard and high output strobe models?
Standard output (-SVMx): 15/29/70/87 cd. High output (-SVMHx, this unit): 102/123/147/161 cd. High output is for larger open areas, high ceilings, and outdoor applications needing greater visibility. Both UL 1971 listed.
