The KC2-SB is the standard detector base for Kidde's KC2 series two-wire conventional smoke and heat detectors, connecting the detector head to the initiating device circuit and providing terminals for an optional remote LED alarm indicator. The 4-inch diameter base mounts directly to standard North American electrical boxes, so it drops into existing rough-ins without adapters.
Built for straightforward conventional installs
Compatible across the KC2-H, KC2-OS, and KC2-OSH detector heads under the shared S10AR2 base identifier, the KC2-SB keeps a single base part number covering heat, photoelectric smoke, and combination smoke/heat detectors on the same job. Wiring terminals are accessible from the room side after the base is mounted, and both Class A and Class B wiring configurations are supported.
- 4-inch diameter base: mounts to standard single-gang, octagon, and BESA electrical boxes
- Remote LED output: terminals built in for an optional GSA-LED remote alarm indicator
- One base, three detector heads: covers KC2-H, KC2-OS, and KC2-OSH under the S10AR2 identifier
- Class A or Class B wiring supported
