SKU:
KD-GSA-MAB

The GSA-MAB drops Class A wiring capability into any Genesis notification appliance with a UIO mount slot. No additional conduit runs, no extra boxes. Plug it in, and the NAC circuit gains the fault tolerance that Class A wiring provides: if a wire break occurs anywhere on the loop, the circuit continues to operate from the return path.

Built for the fire alarm installer

Class A wiring is required or preferred on many commercial fire alarm jobs, especially in high-rise, healthcare, and institutional occupancies where circuit survivability is non-negotiable. The GSA-MAB handles the conversion at the device level, keeping the install clean and code-compliant without running additional conductors back to the panel. All circuits are power limited.

Key benefits

  • Plug-in Class A conversion: adds Class A/B wiring capability to Genesis notification appliances via UIO mount
  • No extra wire runs: converts at the device, reducing labor and conduit requirements
  • Power limited: all circuits power limited per UL listing
  • Universal fit: compatible with Genesis horns, strobes, horn-strobes, and speakers that accept UIO mount accessories
  • Clean installation: module seats inside the appliance housing with no visible external hardware

System requirements

Requires a Kidde Genesis notification appliance with a UIO mount slot. The NAC circuit must be wired in a Class A (Style Z) configuration from the FACP or NAC power supply. Consult the FACP installation manual for Class A wiring requirements specific to your panel.

What does the GSA-MAB do?
Plug-in Class A/B wiring module for Genesis notification appliances. Converts Class B NAC to Class A (Style Z) for circuit survivability - if a break occurs, appliances continue operating from the return path.
Which Genesis appliances is this compatible with?
The GSA-MAB is compatible with Kidde Genesis horns, strobes, horn-strobes, and speakers that have a UIO (Universal Input/Output) mount slot. Check the specific appliance spec sheet to confirm UIO mount compatibility for your model.
When is Class A wiring required?
Required on many commercial fire alarm jobs - high-rise, healthcare, and institutional occupancies especially. Local codes and the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) determine whether Class A is mandatory for your project.
Does this module require its own power source?
No. The GSA-MAB is a passive wiring module that plugs into the UIO mount slot on a Genesis notification appliance. It does not require its own power source. All circuits are power limited.
Do I need one module per appliance on the circuit?
Class A wiring configuration depends on your circuit design and FACP requirements. Consult the FACP installation manual and the Genesis appliance documentation for correct placement of Class A/B modules within your NAC circuit layout.
