The Luminys R42-8PA is an 8-channel, 16MP-capable NVR with eight built-in PoE ports in a compact 1U chassis - everything you need to stand up a complete Luminys IP camera system without a separate PoE switch. Pair it with Luminys cameras and you get full camera-side analytics (iMD, VCA, Face Detection, Face Recognition, LPR) processed at the edge, leaving recording bandwidth free for the channels that need it.

Built for the commercial installer

Two SATA bays support up to 16TB per drive (32TB total), with enterprise-grade HDDs available on request. The R42-8PA is NDAA compliant and FCC certified - ready for government, education, and commercial jobs with compliance requirements. It interoperates with any ONVIF/RTSP-compatible camera for recording, while full analytics features require Luminys cameras. Mounts in a standard rack or sits desktop; brackets, SATA cables, mouse, and CAT5E are all in the box. LumiCloud Lite is included; LumiCloud Unity subscriptions are sold separately.

System requirements

Connects to the network via rear Gigabit Ethernet. Remote access and mobile monitoring run through LumiViewer (desktop) and the LumiViewer Mobile App. For cloud recording and remote management beyond local storage, a LumiCloud Unity subscription is required (sold separately). Drives are not included - the two SATA bays accept HDDs up to 16TB each.
