The Omada SG3428X is a 24-port Gigabit L2+ managed switch with four 10G SFP+ slots, a fanless 1U box for closets where the uplinks need more than Gigabit. It manages in the same Omada site as the gateway and APs.

Built for closets with 10G uplinks

Twenty-four Gigabit RJ45 ports connect NVRs, servers, APs and workstations, and four SFP+ slots carry 10G uplinks to the core or between closets. 128 Gbps of switching capacity keeps every port at line rate. Static routing, 802.1Q VLANs, ACLs, 802.1X and IGMP snooping cover segmented networks, and the fanless case is quiet in an occupied space.

Key features

  • Four 10G SFP+ slots for uplinks and links between closets
  • 24 Gigabit RJ45 ports with 128 Gbps of switching capacity
  • Fanless 1U metal case: quiet, rackmount kit included
  • L2+ features: static routing, DHCP server, VLANs, ACLs and ERPS ring recovery
  • Zero-touch provisioning and batch firmware upgrades through the Omada Cloud-Based Controller

System requirements

Centralized management needs an an Omada Cloud-Based Controller, Omada hardware controller or Omada Software Controller; zero-touch provisioning needs the cloud controller. Without a controller the switch runs standalone from its own web interface and CLI.

FAQs

Does the SG3428X have PoE?
No. It has no PoE output. For PoE cameras and APs use a PoE model such as the SG3428XMP.
Does it need an Omada controller?
No. It runs standalone from its web interface, CLI and SNMP. An Omada controller adds centralized management, and the cloud controller adds zero-touch provisioning.
Can the SFP+ slots take 1G SFP modules?
TP-Link lists the slots as 1/10 Gbps SFP+, so they accept 10G SFP+ modules and Gigabit SFP modules.
Can it route between VLANs?
Yes. It is L2+ with 48 IPv4/IPv6 static routes and a DHCP server, so it can route between camera, voice and data VLANs.
Is it fanless?
Yes. It has no fan, so it is silent in a closet or an occupied space.
