The Omada SG3428 is a 28-port Gigabit L2+ managed switch with 24 RJ45 ports and four SFP slots, a fanless 1U box for the data side of a rack where cameras and APs are powered elsewhere. It manages in the same Omada site as the gateway and APs.

Built for closet and aggregation jobs

Twenty-four Gigabit ports connect NVRs, servers, APs and workstations, and four SFP slots carry fiber or copper-SFP uplinks between closets. Static routing, 802.1Q VLANs, QinQ, ACLs, 802.1X and IGMP snooping cover segmented camera, voice and guest networks. With no fan it stays quiet, and the rackmount kit is included.

Key features

  • 24 Gigabit RJ45 ports and four SFP slots for devices on the front and fiber on the back
  • Fanless 1U metal case: quiet in an occupied space, rackmount kit included
  • L2+ features: static routing, DHCP server, VLANs, QinQ, ACLs and ERPS ring recovery
  • Zero-touch provisioning and batch firmware upgrades through the Omada Cloud-Based Controller
  • Standalone ready: web UI, CLI, SNMP and RMON when no controller is present

System requirements

Centralized management needs an Omada Cloud-Based Controller (firmware 5.15.22 or later), Omada hardware controller or Omada Software Controller (5.15.20 or later); zero-touch provisioning needs the cloud controller. Without a controller the switch runs standalone from its own web interface and CLI.

FAQs

Does the SG3428 have PoE?
No. It has no PoE output. For PoE cameras and APs use a PoE model such as the SG3428MP.
Does it need an Omada controller?
No. It runs standalone from its web interface, CLI and SNMP. An Omada controller adds centralized management, and the cloud controller adds zero-touch provisioning.
Can it route between VLANs?
Yes. It is L2+ with 48 IPv4/IPv6 static routes and a DHCP server, so it can route between camera, voice and data VLANs.
Is it fanless?
Yes. It has no fan, and TP-Link lists a maximum of 17.1 dBA at 1 cm.
Does it come with rack ears?
Yes. A rackmount kit is included for a 19-inch rack, along with rubber feet.
