The Omada SG3428X-M2 is a 24-port 2.5G L2+ managed switch with four 10G SFP+ slots, built to aggregate a floor of multi-gig Wi-Fi access points and hand the traffic upstream at 10G. It manages in the same Omada site as the gateway and APs.

Built for multi-gig aggregation

Twenty-four 2.5G RJ45 ports run over existing Cat5e, and four SFP+ slots carry 10G uplinks. 200 Gbps of switching capacity and a 32K MAC table keep a full rack of multi-gig devices moving. Static routing, 802.1Q VLANs, ACLs, 802.1X and IGMP snooping cover segmented networks. The switch has one fan, typically 20.0 dBA at 1 m, and mounts in a 19-inch rack.

Key features

  • 24 2.5G RJ45 ports and four 10G SFP+ slots for multi-gig access with 10G uplinks
  • 200 Gbps switching capacity with a 32K MAC address table
  • 1U rackmount case with a single fan and rackmount kit included
  • L2+ features: static routing, DHCP server, VLANs, ACLs and ERPS ring recovery
  • Zero-touch provisioning and batch firmware upgrades through the Omada Cloud-Based Controller

System requirements

Centralized management needs an Omada Cloud-Based Controller (firmware 5.15.22 or later), Omada hardware controller or Omada Software Controller (5.15.20 or later); zero-touch provisioning needs the cloud controller. Without a controller the switch runs standalone from its own web interface and CLI.

FAQs

Does the SG3428X-M2 have PoE?
No. It has no PoE output. Power multi-gig APs with injectors or use a PoE model such as the SG3428XPP-M2.
Does it need an Omada controller?
No. It runs standalone from its web interface, CLI and SNMP. An Omada controller adds centralized management, and the cloud controller adds zero-touch provisioning.
How loud is it?
One fan. TP-Link lists 20.0 dBA typical at 1 m (100% load, 77°F/25°C) and 30.5 dBA max at 1 m (100% load, 113°F/45°C).
Can it route between VLANs?
Yes. It is L2+ with 48 IPv4/IPv6 static routes and a DHCP server, so it can route between camera, voice and data VLANs.
Does it come with rack ears?
Yes. A rackmount kit is included for a 19-inch rack, along with rubber feet.
