The Omada SG3428MP is a 28-port Gigabit L2+ managed switch with 24 PoE+ ports and a 384 W PoE budget, sized for a closet full of cameras, access points and phones. Four Gigabit SFP slots handle fiber uplinks to the core or between buildings, and the whole switch is managed in the same Omada site as the gateway and APs.

Built for camera and wireless deployments

Every RJ45 port is 802.3af/at PoE+ at up to 30 W, with Perpetual PoE keeping cameras powered through a switch reboot and Fast PoE bringing them up before the switch finishes booting. L2+ static routing, 802.1Q VLANs, QinQ, ACLs, 802.1X and IGMP snooping cover segmented camera, voice and guest networks. Manage it from the Omada controller or standalone through the web UI, CLI and SNMP, and mount it in a rack or on a desk.

Key features

  • 384 W across 24 PoE+ ports: up to 30 W per port for PTZs, APs and phones
  • Perpetual and Fast PoE: devices stay powered through a switch reboot and power up early on a cold start
  • Four Gigabit SFP slots for fiber uplinks
  • L2+ features: static routing, DHCP server, VLANs, QinQ, ACLs, QoS and ERPS ring recovery
  • Zero-touch provisioning and batch firmware upgrades through the Omada Cloud-Based Controller
  • Rack or desktop mount in a metal case, rackmount kit included

System requirements

Centralized management needs an Omada Cloud-Based Controller (firmware 5.15.22 or later), Omada hardware controller or Omada Software Controller (5.15.20 or later); zero-touch provisioning needs the cloud controller. Without a controller the switch runs standalone from its own web interface and CLI.

FAQs

How many PoE cameras can the SG3428MP power?
All 24 RJ45 ports are PoE+ at up to 30 W, sharing a 384 W budget. Divide 384 W by each camera's max draw to size the job.
Will cameras lose power when the switch reboots?
No. Perpetual PoE keeps power on the ports during a switch reboot, and Fast PoE powers devices on a cold start before the switch finishes booting.
Does it need an Omada controller?
No. It runs standalone from its web interface and CLI. An Omada controller adds centralized management, and the cloud controller adds zero-touch provisioning.
Can it route between VLANs?
Yes. It is L2+ with up to 48 IPv4/IPv6 static routes and a DHCP server, so it can route between camera, voice and data VLANs.
Does it come with rack ears?
Yes. A rackmount kit is included for a 19-inch rack, and rubber feet for a desk or shelf.
