Outdoor detection generates the most false activations on any system, and every one is potentially a call-out. Being able to look at the image and see a fox rather than a person ends the question immediately, without anyone driving to site.
The camera covers 105 degrees horizontally by 50 degrees vertically, shooting up to 640 x 352 with an IR backlight, and can deliver a series of up to five images. Photo delivery is about 9 seconds at 320 x 176 and up to 20 seconds at full resolution, so the resolution setting is a real trade-off against how fast the operator sees the frame.
Detection runs 10 to 49 feet across 90 degrees with LISA and SmartDetect filtering, rated -13F to 140F, with anti-masking reporting attempts to block the view.
