Bench the enclosure instead of building it on a ladder. The removable backplate comes out of the can, so power and distribution boards get mounted and pre-wired at the shop, and the install at the site is hanging a box and dropping a finished backplate into it.
Built for the commercial installer
The backplate carries pre-engineered Mercury mounting patterns and threaded standoffs, which covers both standard and PoE subassemblies without drilling or improvising standoffs. That is what lets one enclosure handle several door-count configurations rather than stocking a different can per layout.
The shell is 16-gauge steel in a textured black finish with knockouts on all four sides, so conduit and cable entry work from whichever direction the wire actually arrives. The door lifts off entirely on a quick disconnect grounding strap, which gets it out of the way during rough-in without leaving a ground floating. A lockset and tamper switch are included, and the 4.5 inch depth leaves room for the battery set behind the boards.
