SKU:
ADC-VDBA-770BAT

The replacement battery component for the ADC-VDB770, and the part that digital chime installations depend on. Where the site has a digital chime, this is the required configuration; the battery-less insert is not an option there.

Built for the installer

On a digital chime circuit the doorbell cannot draw continuously the way it can on a mechanical chime, so the battery covers the gap. That makes this both a service part for an aged battery and a configuration part when a site's chime type dictates it.

If the install has a mechanical chime or no wired chime at all, the battery-less insert (ADC-VDBA-770BLI) is the better specification, since it removes battery upkeep from the site entirely.

Key features

  • Required for digital chime installations where the battery-less insert cannot be used
  • Service part for an aged or failed battery without replacing the doorbell
  • Drop-in replacement of the existing battery component

System requirements

For the Alarm.com ADC-VDB770 Video Doorbell. Required where the installation uses a digital chime. For mechanical chime or no-chime installations, consider the battery-less insert (ADC-VDBA-770BLI) instead.

Why does a digital chime need the battery version?
On a digital chime circuit the doorbell cannot draw power continuously the way it can on a mechanical chime, so the battery covers the shortfall. Alarm.com specifies the battery version for digital chime installations.
When should the battery-less insert be used instead?
On mechanical chime or no-chime installations. The ADC-VDBA-770BLI removes battery upkeep entirely, but it is not suitable for digital chimes.
Is this a service part or a configuration part?
Both. It replaces an aged or failed battery, and it is the required configuration where the site has a digital chime.
