The ADC-VDB781B ships with a 5-degree tilt wedge, which points the camera down toward the step. It does nothing for a doorbell mounted on a wall that faces across the approach rather than toward it. This kit adds a 30-degree pan wedge that turns the camera sideways toward the path visitors actually walk.

Built for the installer

The 781B is battery powered, so it often ends up on the only flat surface near the door: a side jamb, a return wall, or a brick column beside the entry. The pan wedge corrects that angle at the mount, so the 148-degree field of view and the motion sensing cover the walkway instead of the siding next to it.

Keep one on the van. It turns a marginal placement into a correct one without moving the wallplate or drilling a second set of holes.
