The ADC-VDB750 has a wide 165 by 145 degree field of view, which forgives a lot, but it does not fix a mounting surface that faces the wrong way. Recessed entries, narrow porches and doorbells mounted on a return wall all need the camera panned toward the approach before the field of view does any good.
Carrying the kit means an awkward entry gets solved on the first visit rather than becoming a return trip with a part.
