  • Free logo branding available
  • Fast shipping from four branches
  • 30-day returns on unopened products

For the house with no doorbell wiring, a dead transformer, or a front door nowhere near a chime circuit. The ADC-VDB780B runs entirely on a rechargeable battery pack, so the install is choosing the best viewing angle rather than working backwards from where the wire happens to come out of the wall.

Built for the installer

The 9540 mAh pack is rated up to six months between charges and recharges over micro USB in about seven hours. IP66 and a 160-degree horizontal field of view. A 10-degree tilt wedge is in the box, and the optional wedge kit (ADC-VDBA-780B-WMK) adds 15-degree tilt plus 15 and 30-degree pan wedges for doors on perpendicular walls.

Read the connectivity requirement before quoting. This doorbell does not join the customer's router directly. It must connect over Wi-Fi to an Alarm.com Smart Chime (ADC-W115C), Smart Gateway (ADC-SG130), IQ Panel 4, IQ Panel 4 Hub, IQ 4 NS or Qolsys IQ WiFi 6, all sold separately. If none of those is on site, the job needs one added.

FAQs

Does this doorbell connect straight to the customer router?
No. It must connect over Wi-Fi to an Alarm.com Smart Chime (ADC-W115C), Smart Gateway (ADC-SG130), IQ Panel 4, IQ Panel 4 Hub, IQ 4 NS or Qolsys IQ WiFi 6. If none is on site, one must be added.
How long does the battery last?
Alarm.com rates it up to six months per charge from the 9540 mAh pack. Recharge over micro USB with a 5V 1.5A charger takes up to seven hours.
Are spare battery packs available?
Yes, as ADC-VDBA-780BAT. Spares ship at 20 to 30% charge and should be charged before installation, and the protective film over the connector pins must be removed first.
Can it be powered permanently by micro USB?
The micro USB port is for charging the battery pack. See the Alarm.com article on powering the ADC-VDB780B by micro USB for the supported configuration before planning a permanent USB feed.
