SKU:
KD-EGCAWF

The Kidde Genesis LED EGC Series ceiling horn delivers clear, high-output audible notification in a low-profile package that protrudes just 1.5 inches from the mounting surface. Field-selectable for high dB (92 dBA) or low dB (86 dBA) output and configurable for temporal (TC3) or constant tone, it covers commercial fire alarm applications on coded or non-coded NAC circuits.

Built for the commercial installer

The EGCAWF mounts to standard 1-gang, 2-gang, 4-inch octagon, and 4-inch square electrical boxes with the included GP10 room side wiring plate. Pre-install and pre-wire the plate, verify continuity with the built-in diagnostics check bar, then snap the device into place. Under-cover diagnostic test points let you validate the NAC circuit after mounting - no need to pull the unit off the ceiling. UL, ULC, FCC, and FM Approved.

Key features

  • Low-profile design: protrudes just 1.5" from the mounting surface for a clean ceiling appearance
  • Selectable output: high dB (92 dBA) or low dB (86 dBA), temporal (TC3) or constant tone via slide switches
  • Room side wiring plate included: pre-install and pre-wire the GP10 plate, then snap the horn into place
  • Built-in diagnostics: check bar on the wiring plate and under-cover test points for fast circuit verification
  • Wide voltage range: 16 to 33 VDC or 16 to 33 VFWR, low current draw (20-30 mA DC depending on setting)
  • Fits standard boxes: 1-gang, 2-gang, 4-inch octagon, and 4-inch square electrical boxes

System compatibility

Operates on conventional NAC circuits powered by Kidde CC Series signal modules, booster and auxiliary power supplies, intelligent and conventional control panels. Backwards compatible with legacy Xenon-based Genesis devices on the same circuit. Wire with 12 to 18 AWG conductors.

Does this horn work on coded NAC circuits?
Yes. Horn-only models can be configured for either coded or non-coded NAC circuits. Use the slide switch to select constant output for coded circuits or TC3 temporal for non-coded.
What electrical boxes does the EGCAWF fit?
The EGCAWF mounts to 1-gang, 2-gang, 4-inch octagon, and 4-inch square electrical boxes. Boxes must be at least 1-1/2 inches (3.81 cm) deep.
Can I mix EGC Series horns with legacy Xenon Genesis devices on the same circuit?
Yes. Genesis LED EGC Series devices are backwards compatible and can be mixed with legacy Xenon-based Genesis strobes on the same NAC circuit.
How do I change between high and low dB output?
Slide the tone selector switch accessible under the cover. High dB output is 92 dBA, low dB reduces output by approximately 6 dBA to 86 dBA.
What wire gauge does this horn require?
12 to 18 AWG (0.75 to 2.50 mm2). The low current draw of LED-based EGC devices often allows smaller wire gauge than older Xenon-type devices, reducing conduit fill.
Is the room side wiring plate included?
Yes. The GP10 universal room side wiring plate ships with every EGC device. It allows pre-installation and pre-wiring before the horn arrives, and includes a diagnostics check bar for continuity verification.
