The Kidde Genesis LED EGCSWA is a ceiling-mount fire alarm speaker built for 25V and 70.7V NAC circuits. A field-selectable voltage switch under the cover means one SKU handles both circuit types - no ordering mistakes, no return trips to the supply house. Wattage taps at 1/4W, 1/2W, 1W, and 2W let you dial in coverage per zone, and the included room-side wiring plate (GRSW) means you can run wire and mount the backplate before the device even arrives on site.

Built for the commercial fire installer

The EGCS Series fits standard 2-gang and 4-inch square electrical boxes with a minimum 1-1/2" depth. At just 1.82" deep, it sits nearly flush to the ceiling - a clean look for occupied commercial spaces. UL listed, FCC certified, and FM Approved. The DC blocking capacitor provides electrical supervision of the NAC circuit without additional components.

FAQs

Does the EGCSWA work on both 25V and 70V circuits?
Yes. A field-selectable switch under the cover lets you set 25VRMS or 70VRMS operation. One SKU covers both circuit standards.
What wattage taps are available?
Four taps: 1/4W, 1/2W, 1W, and 2W. The current tap setting is visible through a small window on the side of the device without removing the cover.
What electrical box does this mount to?
Standard 2-gang or 4-inch square electrical box with a minimum depth of 1-1/2" (3.81 cm).
Can I change the cover marking without replacing the whole device?
Yes. Genesis LED EGCS covers are quick-swap replaceable. Remove the existing cover and snap on a different marking (FIRE, ALERT, or blank) without disconnecting or removing the speaker from the ceiling.
Is a room-side wiring plate included?
Yes. The GRSW room-side wiring plate ships with the device. It mounts to the electrical box first so you can complete wiring before the speaker is installed.
