SKU:
KD-1501-AQN5

The Kidde 1501-AQN5 is a floor-mounted electromagnetic door holder built for single-door fire safety applications. Multi-voltage operation (24 VAC/DC and 120 VAC) means it ties into whatever power is already available at the door - no transformer swaps, no extra runs. Fail-safe by design: power loss releases the door automatically, keeping the building code-compliant without a single moving part.

Built for the commercial installer

Conduit connects directly into the floor plate, and the floor plate plus housing form a weatherproof electrical junction box when installed with gaskets. No external J-boxes, no extra hardware. The shock-absorbing nylon swivel ball adjusts to any door angle, so alignment is forgiving on offset or angled door swings. UL and ULC listed. Aluminum-color baked polyester powder paint finish holds up in high-traffic commercial environments.

Key features

  • Fail-safe operation: door releases automatically on power loss for fire code compliance
  • Multi-voltage (24 VAC/DC, 120 VAC): uses existing power at the door without transformer changes

  • Adjustable swivel contact: shock-absorbing nylon ball accommodates any door angle
  • Maintenance-free: no moving parts, self-contained design
  • UL and ULC listed for commercial fire door applications
