SKU:
KD-K-270-DPO

The Kidde K-270-DPO is a non-coded single action break glass fire alarm station built for commercial and institutional fire alarm circuits. Pull the lever, break the glass rod, and the alarm initiates - simple positive operation with no reset ambiguity. Die-cast metal construction holds up in high-traffic corridors, stairwells, and exit paths where pull stations take daily abuse.

Built for the commercial installer

The K-270-DPO wires as a double pole, open circuit (normally open) device with screw terminal connections - no wire leads to strip and splice. UL Listed under File S2318. Flush mounts on a standard 4" NA square box with a single gang plaster cover (minimum 2-1/4" depth), or surface mounts with Kidde's cast box (P-027193) or steel box (P-039250).

Does the K-270-DPO require a specific back box?
For flush mounting, use a standard 4" NA square box with a single gang plaster cover (minimum 2-1/4" depth). For surface mounting, Kidde offers two options: cast box P-027193 or steel box P-039250, both sold separately.
Is this pull station ADA compliant?
Yes. The pull lever requires less than 5 lb of force to operate, meeting ADA accessibility requirements for fire alarm initiating devices.
What does double pole open circuit mean?
The K-270-DPO has two sets of normally open contacts. When the station is activated (glass broken, lever pulled), both poles close to complete the alarm circuit. This configuration is used in non-coded fire alarm systems.
Can this station be surface mounted?
Yes. Kidde offers two surface mount boxes for the K-270 series: the cast box (P-027193) and the steel box (P-039250). Both provide a finished appearance and are sold separately.
How do I reset the station after activation?
Replace the broken glass rod, reset the pull lever to its original position, and verify the circuit returns to its normal open state. Replacement glass rods are available from Kidde.
